Hotpoint washing machines are manufactured by Whirlpool and feature many options, such as a flexible agitator, rotary controls, nine wash cycles, three water levels, two wash/spin combinations, three wash/rinse combinations, an automatic balance suspension system and a fast spin speed. The washer is available for purchase online and in select stores and is sold with a limited warranty. When minor problems occur, however, owners may wish to try some troubleshooting before contacting Whirlpool for a service call.

Instructions

1 Plug the power cord into the Hotpoint washing machine as well as a grounded three-prong outlet if the machine does not seem to have power. Reset/replace the circuit breaker or fuse as needed.

2 Reduce the amount of detergent used if there are too many suds in the water. Low-sudsing detergent is available in many grocery stores.

3 Check the hose connections at the rear of the washer if there is water leaking. Tighten the connections and straighten out the hoses. Pull the drain hose away from the wall, and clean other household drains as well.

4 Adjust the water faucets so both are fully turned on if the water supply or temperature seems faulty. The household water temperature should be at least 48.9 degrees Celsius. Place a towel under the water hoses, turn off the water faucets and disconnect the water hoses. Clean the inlet screens in the washing machine and firmly reconnect the hoses.

5 Close the lid and select a new drain cycle if there is water left in the tub after washing.

6 Avoid overloading items into the washing machine if the wash results are unsatisfactory. Moderate load sizes are best.
