How to Clean Water Spots on Laminate Floors

Laminate flooring is a very durable and resilient flooring that comes in mock wood or stone finish. Laminate is easy to keep clean and maintain but it can't get wet. If liquid is left standing on laminate, it will swell up at the seams. Laminate can be mopped, but only with a damp mop; it also has to be dried off immediately after mopping. This is the best way to remove any dried dirt or even water spots that may occur over time.

Skill level:Easy

Things you need

Mop bucketMild detergentMopTowels

Instructions

1 Pour a small amount of a mild detergent into the bottom of a mop bucket. Fill the mop bucket with warm water.

2 Dip the mop into the water and then ring it out good so that it is damp but not wet. Mop the floor until all the water spots are washed away.

3 Dry the floor with a towel before the water air dries so as to avoid any more water spots. This will also ensure that water does not absorb into the seams of the laminate. If water does get into the seams, the floor will swell up.
