Apple's iPod Shuffle first appeared in January 2005. The latest version, the iPod Shuffle fourth generation, is like its predecessors. It has basic controls and no bass booster switch. Many music lovers prefer to accentuate the bass on the music they listen to. With an iPod Shuffle, you can boost the bass but you have to do so through iTunes. Once you've done this, you sync your iPod Shuffle to iTunes and listen to the more pronounced bass sounds of individual songs or your complete music collection.
