How to Make Wedding Cards to Give Friends

Easy on your wallet, a homemade card can also be a personal, heartfelt gift that could not be purchased in stores. Givers can express their sentiments as well as personal anecdotes, transforming the card into a treasured keepsake. Taking the time to create a card yourself will express your well wishes for a friends' wedding; they'll know their special day was important enough for you to take the time to create a homemade card.

Skill level:Moderate

Things you need

ComputerMicrosoft WordPrinterPaperPen (optional)

Instructions

1 Open a Microsoft Word document and convert the page into a Landscape layout instead of a Portrait layout by clicking "File," then "Page Setup." Click on "Landscape" and hit "OK."

2 Add text and/or a photo to the right side of the page. Click "Insert" then "Text Box" or "Picture" to add either. For text, add a main greeting such as "Congratulations." After clicking "Picture," select either "From File" or "From Clip Art." Navigate to the desired image. Choose an image of the couple for a nostalgic and personal card.

3 Print the paper: This will be the front of the card.

4 Create a page break to add another page in the same layout and format by selecting "Insert" then "Break." Select "Page Break" and hit "OK."

5 Add text to the right side of the page by inserting another text box. The message could include your well wishes to the couple, an anecdote or simply a poem about love. Add another image if desired.

6 Put the card's front cover page back into the printer, image side up and facing to your left, so that the interior of the card faces the correct side. While this placement will work for most printers, you may want to print a test page to be sure.

7 Print the interior of the card and fold the page in half.
