The ashtray must also be removed from an Audi A4 when installing a new shifter.

Instructions

1 Remove the trim surrounding the shifter by prying the front and back of the trim upward, and unclipping it from the centre console of the Audi, exposing two screws. The shifter is located at the centre console, inside the Audi.

2 Remove the two screws that attach the ashtray to the centre console, using a screwdriver counterclockwise.

3 Pull out the ashtray.

4 Pull and detach the lighting connector located at the back of the ashtray.

5 Pull and remove the ashtray from the Audi.
