How to Use a Dirt Devil Vacuum Steamer

Dirt Devil vacuum steamers are designed to get dirt that traditional vacuums just can't get to. By using a mixture of extremely hot water and Dirt Devil detergent, the steam cleaner breaks through stubborn stains. The steam created from the hot water loosens the stain while the vacuum cleans up the remains. This all-in-one unit is designed for any carpeted floor, no matter what the size or flooring material.

Skill level:Easy

Things you need

Dirt Devil detergent

Instructions

1 Remove the container on the front of the upright section of the unit. Pull up on the handle directly above the reservoir and remove the container from the unit.

2 Unscrew the measuring cap from the backside of the reservoir.

3 Fill the cap with Dirt Devil detergent and pour into the reservoir.

4 Fill the remainder of the reservoir with hot tap water and replace the measuring cap.

5 Replace reservoir by setting the bottom in place, and rotating the top into position until it snaps.

1 Plug the unit into the wall. It is essential that the unit is plugged into a grounded, or three-prong, outlet as you'll be working with wet floors.

2 Manoeuvre the system into place, step onto handle release to allow the handle to drop into cleaning position and turn it on by flipping the switch near the handle to the "On" position.

3 Pull the spray trigger as you move the unit backwards slowly to release the steam and detergent.

4 Move the unit forward on the same line to vacuum up the dirt and debris.

1 Remove the dirty water reservoir from the base of the Dirt Devil vacuum steamer by grabbing the handle of the dirty water reservoir and pushing the latch to release.

2 Lift the unit out of the base.

3 Unscrew the cap and dump the dirty water into the sink or toilet.

4 Rinse the dirty water reservoir with hot water, replace the cap and place it back into the base of the vacuum unit. If you are finished cleaning, turn it upside down and allow it to dry before replacing the cap and putting it back into the base of the vacuum unit.

Tips and warnings

When the vacuum noise changes to a higher pitch, it's time to empty the dirty water reservoir.
