These are simple procedures that do not require you to take apart your VCR or have any special skills.

1 Unplug your VCR. Leave the machine unplugged for three minutes, then plug it back in. Press power on the front of the machine.

2 Press and hold the power button on the front of the machine for about eight seconds. The time display should change to "-:- -." Press the power button again.

3 Check to see if the child lock is in use. If the child lock is in use, press the "Display" button on your remote control and hold it down for about eight seconds. The LOC display will turn off.

4 Make sure your VCR's operational setting is set to VCR-A. If the VCR does not respond to the remote control, make sure the VCR/TV slide switch is set correctly. If the VCR still does not respond to the remote, change the batteries in your remote control.

5 Contact your Mitsubishi electronics dealer for assistance, if, after following the above steps, you are still unable to get your VCR to function properly.
