Size

The Yamaha Grizzly 600 is 81.9 inches long, 45.7 inches wide, 47.8 inches tall and has a seat height of 34.1 inches. The wheelbase is 49.4 inches with a ground clearance of 7.1 inches. The Grizzly 600 weighs 227kg.

Engine

The engine of the Yamaha Grizzly 600 is air-cooled and the displacement is 595cc. The bore is 3.7 inches and the bore is 3.3 inches. The compression ratio is 8.5:1. The engine has a carburettor, an electric starter and a CDI ignition system or a capacitor discharge ignition. The starter also has a backup recoil that has auto compression. The air filter consists of dual-foam which is located underneath the seat. It has a manual choke. The engine is also cooled with oil and a thermostatically controlled fan.

Suspension, Steering and Brakes

The front suspension consists of a strut-type which has a shock absorber with a front coil spring and an oil damper; it has 6.3 inches of travel --- the front of the vehicle can travel up and down 6.3 inches. The rear suspension consists of a swing arm with a shock absorber, a coil spring and an oil damper. The steering consists of a steering ball and race bearing and has a turning radius of 10.2 feet. The front brakes consist of hydraulic dual discs that are 8.7 inches by 0.14 inches. The rear brakes consist of sealed drums that are hydraulic. The parking brake consists of a lever located on the left that is a clamp-type.

Drive Systems

The clutch of the Yamaha Grizzly 600 is a wet-type and is automatic as well as centrifugal. The transmission has engine braking and is a v-belt automatic.You access reverse by actuating a left-handed lever and a foot pedal. The drivetrain has a v-tech primary reduction. You can switch from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive by pushing a button that is located on right handlebar. The Yamaha Grizzly 600 has a shaft drive with limited slip differential.
